The Academy stars Sir Ian McKellen, as his fictitious brother Murray, who heads the struggling Clapham Academy of Creative Arts. The Academy is a mockumentary, from producer/director Peter Hinton,that portrays the behind the scenes activities and events in a “typical” British drama school.
McKellen has been greatly involved with the development of the series which includes the talents of Jonathan Hyde, Sylvester McCoy and Frances Barber.
