With the closing of LucasArts by Disney just last month, all hope of the already in-progress Star Wars video games being released, including the highly anticipated 1313, seemed lost. But there is a light in the darkness! EA Games has announced that they have acquired exclusive rights to release new Star Wars games over the next few years. According to President Frank Gibeau, “While we don’t have any details to share today on specific titles, our development teams are already brimming with design ideas. The EA Studios that will develop these games are some of the most innovative and popular creative teams in the world, and include DICE and Visceral, in addition to the BioWare team, which is already developing for the Star Wars franchise.”
For those who still have doubts about this deal, keep in mind that EA is the company that published BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic and that seems to be doing pretty well. They’re also interested in hearing from the fans. “We have lots of ideas, but we want to hear from you. Tell us what kind of games you want to play. Send us your suggestions and tag @EA_DICE @VisceralGames @BioWare and #starwarsnextgen,” says Gibeau.
Wait! BioWare might actually make Darth Vader: Jedi Hunter!!!!! *starts spamming their twitter feed*
