For anyone worried that the next installment in the Star Wars series might be tainted by moving to Hollywood, have no fear. Episode VII is slated to begin production in the U.K., according to Hollywood Reporter. Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm stated: “We’ve devoted serious time and attention to revisiting the origins of Star Wars as inspiration for our process on the new movie, and I’m thrilled that returning to the U.K. for production and utilizing the incredible talent there can be a part of that.” The six previous Star Wars movies were also filmed in the U.K., thus having Episode VII follow that tradition.
Episode VII aims for a summer 2015 release, with Episodes VIII and IX to follow in 2017 and 2019 (respectively) between standalone films according to Disney’s newest release schedule.
