"Dear Paparazzi"…From Benedict Cumberbatch

Can Benedict Cumberbatch get any cooler?

While leaving the set of BBC’s Sherlock the actor, who will also be playing the voice of the dragon Smaug in the second installment of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, had a special message for the paparazzi laying in wait.

With his jacket hood tightened around his face and also wearing dark sunglasses, Cumberbatch held up a sign in front of his face that read,

“Go photograph Egypt and show the world something important.”

I love celebrities that are not so self absorbed that they are able to use the fame and attention they receive, and help focus it on the places that need the most attention – Egypt.

Cheers, Mr. Cumberbatch!

  1. *Applauds Cumberbatch* So true. The media is so focused on dazzling the general populace with glitz and glamor that it’s way too easy to forget the real stories involving real people all over the world.
