Attention artists of the Middle-Earth Network community and the readers of Legendarium –

IlluXCon is the first symposium dedicated exclusively to fantastic art (imaginative realism). It brings together artists, students, collectors and fans in an annual gathering to help foster, support and further awareness of art dedicated to the realm of the fantastic. Artists can participate  in the show as attendees or students and art students can sign up to have their portfolios reviewed by art directors and galleries. The symposium offers a vast array of programs and activities and participation is encouraged. Besides the art showcase which sells out quickly, there are opportunities for being a part of and attending demonstrations, lectures, exhibitions, live critiques and other activities.

They are now accepting entries for their Fall Exhibition of fantasy/imaginative art. The entry period started October 9th and it will end on October 31, 2013. The judges’ decisions will be reported on November 15th. Six judges will be selecting artists for both the Main Show and the Weekend Salon.  The judges this year are: Dr. Vern Swanson, Jeffery Watts, Dr. Gregory Hedberg, Jane Frank, Howard Frank, and Guillermo del Toro.

The event takes place at the Allentown Art Museum in PA. IlluXCon features an average display of over 1000 original works of art and offers many workshops, lectures and painting demonstrations by the foremost artists in the school as well as providing the opportunity for collectors to view and purchase original works. For artists interested in submitting their work for the exhibition IlluXCon 7 2014, please go to to the IlluXCon site and follow instructions, here.

IlluXCon is brought to you by the Association of Fantastic Art, an ARC Allied organization. ARC (Art Renewal Center) is dedicated to promoting the return of traditional art education, training, standards and excellence in the visual arts.
