"Winter Soldier is Coming" – New Poster and News for Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Marvel’s “Phase 2″ is upon us and the filming for Captain America: The Winter Soldier has begun!

When we last saw Steve Rogers in the summer MEGA-Hit, The Avengers, we are left to wonder…”What’s next” for this hero who is “out of time”? According to the official Marvel site;

“After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier.”

Today, Marvel released it’s first official poster for the film.

Since the announcement of the film, there have been several images and LEAKED footage from the film. Captain America’s look in the recent movies has gone through an “evolution”. From the WWII canvas-like uniform from First Avenger, to the (in my opinion) horrible polyester/cowl themed campy uniform from The Avengers, to a now “Steve Rogers – Super Soldier” look. I loved the uniform from the First Avenger, but am really excited about this new look, which seems to fit well with his role in S.H.I.E.L.D. and his new “partner”, Black Widow.

A more close up set of photos taken at the San Diego ComicCon, shows more of the details of the suit and the changes made. Looks as though they have even toned down the “red, white, and blue” for the iconic shield!

  1. Can’t wait for this one!

    I prefer the second uniform but either one looks appropriate to me. The second one looks more “universal” which is why I chose it.
