Apparently, Mr. Jackman has made up his mind. The Wolverine will be getting a third spin-off movie and Hugh Jackman will star in it after all. The director will be James Mangold. The first standalone Wolverine film received lukewarm reception from audiences and was panned by critics but the second standalone Wolverine movie was an international financial success, drawing in a total gross of $413 million, spurring 20th Century Fox to green-light Wolverine 3 into production. This will be the 8th time that Hugh Jackman has played the character, after two standalone movies and five X-Men movies, including next summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. It will be the longest any actor has played the same superhero on the big screen.

Director James Mangold will write and Lauren Shuler Donner will produce. So far there is no official news or information about the story-line of Wolverine 3. Wolverine 3 is scheduled to be in theaters in 2016, starring Hugh Jackman.
