The first official trailer has been released for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” which sees the return of Andy Serkis to the role of the Ape insurgent, Caesar.
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
ScreenRant talked to Serkis about the upcoming film and his role of the Ape leader.
“The interesting thing now will be how Caesar operates in this world – because of the virus that hits at the end of the first movie – and how Caesar brings an accord between the apes and the surviving humans and that’s going to be interesting where we take that.”said Serkis.
The film will hit theaters July 2014.
