Gal Gadot Gets "Pumped Up" For Wonder Woman

Since the casting announcement of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Superman vs Batman movie (and of course, Justice League), the internet has had a mixed response.

The main complaint is that Gadot is fashion model thin and doesn’t resemble the Amazonian physique that we have all come to know from the comics. As one supporter pointed out, “Amazonian doesn’t mean big and muscular, it means skill and strength”. This could be true but, Wonder Woman was all of that. Of course, it is a fine line between too much muscle and just enough to be convincing for the live action role.

In my own opinion, I always pictured an actress with the build of Lucy Lawless( Xena: Warrior Princess) in this role, or a recent favorite of mine in this Wonder Woman Fan Movie Trailer.

So it is no surprise that Gadot felt it necessary to post on her Facebook page a post workout photo of her progress in the gym. I think I am warming up to Gadot as the Amazonian warrior!

With this dedication in the gym and her former experience in the Israeli Defense Force, Gadot may prove the critics wrong and surprise us all. I go back to the backlash that happened after the announcement of Michael Keaton as Batman or Heath Ledger as the Joker…How wrong were the critics there?
