Heroes Returns!

heroes_nbc_tv_show_title_card_logo1-7515334NBC dropped a pretty big piece of new during the Olympics this weekend. If you’ve missed the show Heroes, you’re getting it back! Sort of.

ComicBook.com reports that the new incarnation of the acclaimed show will be a stand-alone, 13-episode arc; the details are, of course, being kept hush-hush for now. Heroes Reborn is set to air in 2015.

This is incredibly exciting news, not just for Heroes fans but for fans of any show that was cancelled “before its time”. The resurgence and resurrection of shows like Arrested Development, Stargate, Jericho, and now Heroes gives me hope that certain other shows will finally be able to make their comebacks (Firefly, Young Justice, 666 Park Avenue, and Green Lantern: The Animated Series to name a few).

But rather than get myself worked up over the possibilities, I’m just going to celebrate this victory for now.

And if they manage to pull of something with heroes, maybe we’ll see some good-old stories being told again 😀 I hope.
