Warner Bros. latest trailer release for the upcoming Godzilla movie continues to put aside any doubts that this will truly be a “MONSTER” of a film!
“An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.”
GODZILLA: Then and Now:
I remember watching old poorly dubbed Godzilla movies when I was a kid. Godzilla excited me and at the same time terrified me as he rampaged through the city of Tokyo, fighting monsters and humans alike! It is easy to look at these old films today and laugh at the raw special effects of the time, but in those days as a 9 year old boy with an over active imagination…pure terrifying exhilaration!
Then in the late 1970’s, Godzilla was brought to Saturday morning cartoons in a “kid” friendly version. Godzilla became a helper to Earth arriving to save the day when needed.

Guillermo del Toro resurrected our fascination for giant monsters in last summer’s surprise hit, Pacific Rim. The movie not only had giant monsters from the sea, but added giant robots fighting them! Nerd-gasm!
We continue this giant monster movie fandom this May with another reboot of Godzilla. The classic Godzilla look, amazing casting and special effects previewed in the trailers is giving nerds around the globe hope that Hollywood will “do it right”.

I LOOOOVED the old Godzilla movies. Just as you say in the article, at 9 years old, I saw all the imagination put into it. I wasn’t looking for the zipper on the back of the suit, I was envisioning this massive dragon-ish creature annihilating poor Tokyo and other nasty critters. Always loved that, Godzilla is here to save you, and annihilate you…? lol. Oh no, there goes Tokyo go go Godzilla….
