Widely considered to be the best episode of the original series, Star Trek‘s “City on the Edge of Forever” will see itself reborn in comic form this June! The episode’s writer, Harlan Ellison didn’t get to see his full teleplay come to life on the small screen, but along with IDW Publishing and writers Scott and David Tipton (who also wrote the fantastic TNG/Doctor Who crossover Assimilation2) and artist Juan Ortiz, the full story will finally be told.
“This is truly going to be a Star Trek adventure unlike any other, even to fans who have that beloved episode memorized,” IDW Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall said in a statement regarding the news.
As of this writing, there will be five issues in the miniseries, due out sometime in June.
