If you love all things geek and have a desire to create wearable works of art based on your favorite series, head over to the Her Universe website to find out how your designs could be shown at San Diego Comic-Con this summer!
Her Universe founder and actress Ashley Eckstein (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, That’s So Raven, Sofia the First) has this message to all aspiring designers:
Dear Designers,
Thank you for your interest in The Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic Con 2014! I’ve watched you use the halls of SDCC as your runway for the past four years and it’s time that we give you an actual runway to showcase your talent.
Please read the important information and fill out this Submission Form, read and sign the Official Rules and Release Form below, and attach your design(s) and samples of past work. Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Always remember to “Dream Your World, Be Your World, Flaunt Your World!”
– Ashley
Keep in mind that this is NOT cosplay contest. This is for creating haute couture ensembles that could easily be seen on a runway in Milan, Paris, or New York. Take a look at some of the examples from the site to get an idea of what the judges will be looking for.
Entries must be received no later than April 4, 2014, and finalists must be able to have their designs presented at San Diego Comic-Con (July 24-27, 2014). Finalists must also provide their own transportation, lodging, and all other accommodations to and from the convention for themselves and their models.
