Variety reports today that Warner Bros and J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter spinoff, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is set for release on November 18, 2016.

Legendarium first reported on the announcement that the project was in the works back in September.

Warner Bros Exec, Kevin Tsujihara, persuaded Rowling to adapt her 54 page story for the big screen, which is to be made into trilogy.

“The hope is that we’re going to build a film franchise,” Tsujihara said, “The life-blood of the studio is the content. We’ve had a long, long relationship with Clint Eastwood, Peter Jackson, Chris Nolan, Todd Phillips, Zack Snyder, and you want to make sure you can create a culture where they want to work.”

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a book of adventures written by the Wizard communities “Newt Scamander” and details his adventures chronicling the many magical beast and lands 70 years before Harry Potter discovers it at Hogwarts.
