Look at Matt Smith's Muscles!

After appearing in many heart-melting memes across the internet (and other various small films like The Notebook), Ryan Gosling is making his directorial debut with Lost River.  Gosling hired ex-Doctor Matt Smith to play a bully named “Bully” (a real stretch there, yes?) who rides around the neighborhood with a bullhorn and upholstered chair yelling, “Welcome to Bully Town”. This all happens while a part-time waitress and full-time mom named Billy is raising two sons: a toddler and a boy named Bones who has a crush on his next door neighbor, Rat. And added for your viewing pleasure, there’s also a stripper and a subterranean amusement park!

Just so you know, poor Gosling endured a litany of boos and “defiant applause” at the Cannes Film Festival recently. One critic called it “pretentious horse—-” (censored for the kids…). But some are remaining optimistic because, you know, he keeps reading that dang story to his wife every day for years or perennially encouraging us through semi-clothed internet pictures. If he can do that, perhaps he can pull it together to make a good film.

Here is a Teaser Trailer for Lost River. Feel free to include your comments below:
