This has been quite the week for DC comics reveals, with announcements for the premier of “Gotham” at Comic-Con and the October releases of the new “Arkham Manor” and “Gotham Academy” comic series. New developments have also surfaced for the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” film.
Monday, fans got to see the first still of Henry Cavill as reporter Clark Kent. Thursday an image of Superman in his iconic costume was released to the press.
The Wrap reported that, “[Zack] Snyder didn’t give out many details that matter, except that he’s relying on Batman’s 75-year-old reputation, so audiences will be introduced to the oldest version of the Dark Knight that they have seen on the big screen yet. “It’s cooler to see a crusty old Batman beating the snot out of guys,” Snyder said.
Ben Affleck’s Batsuit shown in May certainly does sport a retro look for a new take on the hero.
The Wrap also reports that Snyder explained why there is only a “v” instead of a “vs.” in the title. He said it will “keep it from being a straight ‘versus’ movie, even in the most subtle way.”
