At the recent screening of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Mark Hamill attended the event wearing a newly grown beard.
‘I thought even if they did a third trilogy, we couldn’t be involved because it’s really about the new generation of characters. You know we’re just there to lend our support and grow contractually obligated beards.’, Hamill told BBC News, ‘I still can’t believe that it’s happening and to go on those sets that evoke so many memories is just so astonishing. I have real ties to this country [the UK]: my son was born when we were doing Empire Strikes Back, he has two passports. It just seems like an unexpected gift.’
It looks as though, Master Skywalker will be taking on the role of wise older Jedi, much like Sir Alec Guinness portrayed as Obi-Wan.
