Nosgoth, the unique team based combat game pitting Humans versus Vampires, is eyeing a winter Open Beta period. However, if you are itching to get a chance to play the game now, no need to sweat! Square Enix has announced that there will be a free Steam weekend for Nosgoth, and it is almost upon us!
The free weekend will take place August 7th – August 10th, 2014. A Steam account is required to play the game. Those who take advantage of this offer will receive Double-XP and an exclusive in-game badge.
Nosgoth is set in the same universe as the Legacy of Kain series, though prior knowledge of those titles is not needed to fully appreciate this game. Developed by Psyonix, the game is being crafted as a competitive free-to-play arena game where Humans and Vampires brutally hunt each other for survival. Having played the game at E3 and back at home, I can say the game has a distinct feel all it’s own among the other competitive F2P games out there. Humans are very limited mobility-wise, though their weapons have some great range and do amazing damage. Vampires, in contrast, are able to completely traverse the map with ease, but are required to take out their opponents up close, relying on their melee skills to get the job done.
