Blockbuster director and honorary Hobbit Peter Jackson will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on December 8th.
“We are very happy to honour such an esteemed filmmaker as Peter Jackson with a star on the Walk of Fame,” Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said. “His groundbreaking and award-winning films are part of the legacy of larger-than-life, Hollywood-style entertainment that is beloved the world over.”
It is reported that Jackson’s star will be in a prime position – right in front of the Dolby Theatre.
In attendance will be stars Orlando Bloom (who received a star last year), Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage and Elijah Wood.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy earned 30 Oscar nominations, winning 17, including Best Picture for the final chapter. The final film of The Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, will be released worldwide on December 17.
