“Tolkien’s 10 Tips for Writers” is a very interesting article. The format in which it is
written allows an easy and fun reading. The author of the article sums up
incredibly well the best tips among writers because he uses a fantastic
reference (Tolkien) in order to support all of the recommendations.
I personally believe these are very good tips because they trigger the writer in you.
However, most specifically, the tips allow you to seize reality in a different
way. Most of the tips can be transferred into daily life since they are not exclusively
for writing scenarios.
My favorite advices were #1, #2 and #4. These three tips, I believe, can specifically be transferred into life because they teach us to stay humble and work hard for what interests us. The most important part is the ability to find something you like in order
to do things pleasantly and create the best out of it.
Finally, I can say that the article teaches every writer and inspires every non-writer into
following these tips because I believe that everyone can relate to anything
mentioned along the text.
If I were to write I book I would deeply consider Tolkien´s
10 tips in writings. Whose better advice to take than from an author who has
inspired the greatest literature in the modern times, such as How to Train Your
Dragon, Harry Potter and Narnia. After reading tip #5 I understand that poetry
is important for the reader and makes your brain think deeper. Although my
favorite tip is #8 in which he states that real people make great characters,
which inspires me to think that my everyday life can inspire great stories.
Based on tip #7 he has waken up an inner dream, and has now made me write a
list of my future dreams and plans in a paper and it might inspire a
best-selling story. In conclusion this
are great tips and I will consider them not just while writing stories but in
life in general and I shall always dare to dream no matter what.
