There’s a fan made Ghostbusters documentary that’s now on Kickstarter. It’s been 8 years in the making, and now it needs your help to get the funds needed to finish. This is possibly the most in-depth look behind the scenes at the making of Ghostbusters (with a companion feature on Ghostbusters 2) that has ever been made.
It’s called Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters.
A brother-sister team, Anthony and Claire Bueno have been flying to the United States regularly to interview more than 70 members of the cast and crew of both films, some of whom have never been interviewed on camera before.
Cast interviews include Dan Aykroyd, the late Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver.
The documentary was originally going to cover everything, from the films to the animated series’ and the video game. The magnitude of content that they’ve shot has grown beyond their original scope, however, and there are so many great stories on how the films were made that they’ve restructured the documentary to focus on the films. They do plan on covering the cartoons and game as an extra feature, but it could become much larger if they are able to raise the funds to do that.
If you’re a fan of Ghostbusters, please consider helping to get this documentary finished.
Support their Kickstarter if you’re a fan of Ghostbusters at all. You won’t be disappointed.
