Everyone’s favorite Jedi, Mark Hamill, has launched a project that will be of special interest to devoted fans everywhere–and now that Hamill is filming more Star Wars films, his devoted fan-base will surely skyrocket. Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest, produced by legendary producer and former Lucasfilm VP, Howard Kazanjian (Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark), and co-producer Darren Moorman (Same Kind of Different as Me), will feature stories about passionate fans’ pop culture collections and is set to hit Comic-Con HQ this Fall. Longtime collector and vintage show promoter, Scott Kinney, also joins the executive team.
“If it’s collectible, I want to see it,” says Hamill in the launch teaser. “And I want to meet the people behind those collections.”
Comic-Con HQ, a joint Comic Con International/Lionsgate venture currently in Beta, is a streaming platform designed to capture the feel of Comic Con 365 days a year. Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest begins shooting as soon as Hamill wraps filming on Star Wars VIII.
“I’ve been a collector all my life,” Hamill also says. “This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion. Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world.”
